 Shrimp Tortellini with Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce 🍋🍤



Ingredients:


1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

9 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions:


Cook the Tortellini:


Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp:


In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce:


In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.

Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese melts. Season with red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper.

Combine and Serve:


Return the cooked shrimp and tortellini to the skillet, tossing gently to coat them in the lemon garlic cream sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
