"Festive Christmas Macarons .
Ingredients:
For the Macaron Shells:
1 cup almond flour
1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
3 large egg whites, aged at room temperature
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring (red, green, or any festive color of your choice)
For the Filling:
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional: flavored extracts (peppermint, almond, etc.) or food coloring
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Macaron Shells:
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar to remove lumps.
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until frothy.
Gradually add the granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Add the vanilla extract and mix.
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites in three additions, being careful not to deflate the mixture. Add food coloring to achieve your desired hue.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets. Let them sit for 30-60 minutes to form a skin.
2. Bake the Macarons:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, until the shells are set and easily lift off the parchment. Let cool completely.
3. Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. Stir in the vanilla and any additional flavoring or coloring you desire. 🍬✨
4. Assemble:
Pair the macaron shells and pipe a dollop of filling onto one shell, then sandwich with another. Press gently to spread the filling.

Let the assembled macarons sit for a few hours (or overnight) to develop their flavors."
