😊✨ French Cream Puffs 🥐🍰🍦
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and don’t forget to line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking!
2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter in the water along with the salt. Stir until everything comes to a lovely boil.
3. Once boiling, take the pan off the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir it vigorously! You want a smooth dough that’s pulling away from the sides of the pan.
4. Let that beautiful dough cool for about 5 minutes. Then, here comes the fun part! Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to stir well after each addition until it’s all incorporated and glossy.
5. Using a spoon or piping bag, dollop small mounds of dough (around 1 1/2 inches wide) onto the baking sheet, leaving some space in between each one.
6. Pop them in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until they’re golden and puffed to perfection. Once done, let them cool completely on a wire rack.
7. While you wait, whip up the cream! In a mixing bowl, beat together the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until you see those wonderful stiff peaks forming.
8. Now it’s assembly time! Slice each puff in half horizontally and fill the bottom with a generous spoonful of whipped cream. Cap it off with the top half and give it a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
