Ingredients:
For the Filling:
1 lb ground chicken
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sriracha (optional for heat)
1/2 cup water chestnuts, diced
2 green onions, thinly sliced
For Serving:
Butter or iceberg lettuce leaves
Optional toppings: shredded carrots, crispy rice noodles, or chopped peanuts
Instructions:
1. Sauté the Chicken and Aromatics:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart, until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
Add diced onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the onion is translucent.
2. Add the Sauces and Seasoning:
Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
3. Add Water Chestnuts and Green Onions:
Fold in the diced water chestnuts and green onions, cooking for another minute until warmed through.
4. Serve:
Spoon the chicken mixture into individual lettuce leaves.
Top with optional shredded carrots, crispy noodles, or peanuts for added texture.😋❤️
