Here’s an old-fashioned, sugar-free energy dessert recipe that’s naturally sweet and packed with energy-boosting ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dates (pitted)
- 1 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, or a mix)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup flax seeds or chia seeds
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (optional, for a chocolatey twist)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
- A little water (only if needed to blend)
Instructions:
- Soak the dates in warm water for 10-15 minutes to soften them, then drain.
- In a food processor, blend the nuts until finely chopped.
- Add the dates, shredded coconut, flax or chia seeds, cocoa powder (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pulse until the mixture becomes sticky. If it’s too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time until it comes together.
- Once mixed, roll into small balls or press into a baking dish to cut into bars.
- Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set, then enjoy!
These treats are perfect for a quick, natural energy boost and are great for on-the-go snacking!
