Sweet Potato Casserole! 🍠🍬 This indulgent side dish is perfect for holidays or any special occasion, combining sweet potatoes with a delightful topping!
Ingredients:
4 large sweet potatoes
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
Topping:
1 cup pecans, chopped
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup flour
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Boil sweet potatoes in water until tender; drain and let cool. Peel and mash the sweet potatoes in a large bowl.
Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the sweet potatoes; mix until well combined.
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine pecans, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter for the topping. Sprinkle it over the sweet potato mixture.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. If using, add mini marshmallows and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden
