Big Mac Sloppy Joes 🍔
Ingredients:
1½ pounds ground beef (85% lean)
½ yellow onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup dill pickles, chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup French dressing
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon white vinegar
¼ teaspoon onion powder
⅛ teaspoon salt
8 sesame seed hamburger buns
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
4 slices American cheese
12 dill pickle chips
Instructions:
Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet pickle relish, ketchup, white vinegar, onion powder, and ⅛ teaspoon salt until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef halfway, about 3-4 minutes. Add the chopped onions, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned, about 5 more minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Combine with Sauce: Stir in the chopped dill pickles and 1 cup of the prepared Big Mac sauce into the browned beef. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread some of the remaining Big Mac sauce on the bottom half of each sesame seed bun. Layer with shredded lettuce, a slice of American cheese, the beef mixture, and dill pickle chips. Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
Serve: Enjoy the Big Mac Sloppy Joes warm.
Notes:
Double-Decker Option: For an authentic Big Mac experience, consider making a double-decker sandwich by adding an extra bun layer in the middle.
Shortcut Sauce: In a pinch, you can substitute the homemade Big Mac sauce with a mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup or use store-bought Thousand Island dressing.
Storage: Store any leftover meat mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
