Festive Mini Jam Tarts Recipe 🎄✨

These adorable Mini Jam Tarts are the perfect combination of buttery tart shells, sweet berry jam, and festive icing. They’ll add a touch of holiday cheer to any gathering!

Ingredients

For the Tart Shells:

1 1/4 cups (160 g) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar

1 egg yolk

1-2 tablespoons cold water

For the Filling:

1/2 cup (120 g) red berry jam (strawberry, raspberry, or cranberry)

For the Topping:

1 1/2 cups (180 g) powdered sugar

2-3 tablespoons milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Red and green food coloring (for decoration)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tart Shells

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.

Add Butter: Rub the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Form Dough: Mix in the egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of cold water. Gently knead until a dough forms. Add the second tablespoon of water if the dough is too dry.

Chill: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Bake the Tart Shells

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Roll Dough: Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut and Shape: Use a round cutter to cut circles and press them into a mini muffin tin or tart mold. Trim any excess dough.

Dock and Bake: Prick the bottoms with a fork to prevent puffing and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 3: Fill with Jam

Add Jam: Once the tart shells are completely cooled, spoon about 1 teaspoon of berry jam into each shell, spreading evenly.

Step 4: Prepare the Icing

Mix Icing: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and thick.

Cover Jam: Spoon the icing over the jam layer, covering it entirely.

Step 5: Decorate

Add Festive Details: Use red and green food coloring to paint holly designs or other holiday patterns on the icing. A toothpick or fine-tipped brush works well for detailed work.

Set Icing: Let the decorated tarts sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the icing to set.

Serve and Enjoy!

Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

These delightful Festive Mini Jam Tarts are perfect for holiday parties, gifting, or enjoying with a cup of tea.

Enjoy the sweet taste of the holidays! 🎅✨
