Homemade Crab Cakes 🦀
Ingredients 🛒
1 lb lump crab meat (picked over for shells)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko preferred)
2 tbsp butter or oil for frying
Lemon wedges, for serving
Directions 👩🍳
1️⃣ Prepare the Mixture:
In a large bowl, mix mayonnaise, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and parsley. Gently fold in the crab meat and breadcrumbs until just combined.
2️⃣ Form the Cakes:
Divide the mixture into 6–8 portions and gently shape into patties. Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
3️⃣ Cook the Crab Cakes:
Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the crab cakes for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
4️⃣ Serve and Enjoy:
Serve warm with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
