Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches 🧀

Ingredients:

1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye, sirloin, or top round)

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

4 hoagie rolls or French bread rolls

1 cup shredded provolone cheese

1/4 cup thinly sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions:

Cook the beef and onions: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and the onions are softened. If using, add the green pepper and cook until softened.

Season: Season the beef mixture with salt and pepper.

Assemble the sandwiches: Place the beef mixture on the bottom half of each roll. Top with shredded provolone cheese.

Broil or Grill: Broil or grill the sandwiches for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Serve the Philly cheesesteaks immediately.

Tips:

You can use any type of cheese you like for this recipe.

For a spicier cheesesteak, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.

Serve the cheesesteaks with your favorite toppings, such as hot sauce, mayonnaise, or horseradish sauce.
