Crispy Tofu Squares Recipe

Ingredients:

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cut into squares

3 tbsp cornstarch

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp chili powder (optional)

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil or olive oil

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)

Oil for frying

Instructions:

1️⃣ Press the Tofu: Wrap tofu in a paper towel, place a heavy object on top, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2️⃣ Marinate: Cut the tofu into squares and toss with soy sauce and sesame oil. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

3️⃣ Coat: In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and chili powder. Coat each tofu square in the mixture, then press into panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.

4️⃣ Fry or Bake:


Frying: Heat oil in a pan and fry tofu for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
